Many turning to mobile devices for help with house hunts

Finding the right house when one is in the market can be challenging. One thing that can be very important when house hunting is having access to the right information. There are a variety of different sources individuals can go to for information during a house hunt. These days, one such source is their mobile device.

The amount of information individuals can access from phones and tablets has grown enormously in recent years. On the real estate front, one thing that puts a lot of house-hunt-related information at a person's fingertips on their mobile device is the fact that there are a plethora of real-estate-related apps out there. These apps can be used for a variety of different things, including:

  • Researching home listings.
  • Researching the specifics of a home one is considering making an offer on.
  • Researching neighborhoods to determine what area one would like to live in.
  • Researching remodeling/redesign options for a home one is thinking of making an offer on.

According to the results of a recent home buyer survey by the California Association of Realtors’, in 2015, mobile devices were a tool that a large majority of Californians (85 percent) turned to for help when it came to buying a home.

What impacts do you think the growth of the availability and popularity of real estate apps and online information sources for prospective home buyers has had on house hunting here in Orange County?

Of course, finding the right house is only half the battle in a house hunt. Then comes the attempt to negotiate a workable agreement for the purchase of the home with the seller. These negotiations can be delicate, complex and remarkably impactful. Thus, when it comes to real estate purchase agreements, having an experienced real estate attorney's help with negotiations can be important for a prospective home buyer.
