Strategies for selling homes in buyer's markets

In recent years, buyers in California markets have had to contend with bidding wars and other issues that arise during a seller's market. However, in some parts of the country, market conditions are beginning to change. For example, only 21 percent of homes listed for sale in November 2018 in Seattle saw multiple bidders. Real estate agents who are trying to attract clients and sell homes in a buyer's market will need to be creative to do so.

One way to attract clients is to be positive at all times. While agents can't control the market or their clients, they can control their own mindset, and remaining upbeat can be helpful for any professional. Once an agent has a client, it is important to stay in touch with that person. Ideally, an agent will talk to a client once or twice a month to stay informed about that person's needs.

Social media can be an effective way to spread the word about a home for sale. It is also important to write interesting and compelling home listings. This will help to educate the buyer as well as inspire that person to want to see the home. The use of drone technology and virtual tours can also help make a home seem more accessible and attractive to buyers.

Selling residential property can be a complex process regardless of market conditions. A seller may want to consider working with a real estate agent and an attorney in an effort to get the best deal on a home. An attorney may also help a seller make sure that all necessary disclosures have been made. Furthermore, a seller's team may work with a buyer's representatives to work out any issues that may arise during the process of closing a real estate transaction.
